Job Title: Retail Shop Assistant
Location: Mayfield Lavender Gift Shop and Glasshouse Cafe, Epsom.
Salary: £12 per hour
Hours: Full time and Part Time opportunities, employees must be available to work on Saturdays. This is a permanent position (not short term)
About Mayfield Lavender:
The gift shop is a vibrant, customer-focused shop which offers a wide range of products including Mayfield branded products and a broad range of beautifully crafted gift items from speciality suppliers. We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-oriented individual to join the friendly team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing exceptional customer service by assisting customers with product inquiries and purchases.
- Maintaining a clean and organised store environment, ensuring products are well-stocked, free from dust and visually appealing.
- Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, processing transactions, and handling cash/credit payments.
- Running end of day finalisation reports and being responsible for balancing the till at the end of shift
- Assisting with store displays, stock management, and inventory replenishment.
- Promoting store offers and special promotions to drive sales.
- Ensuring all health and safety guidelines are adhered to.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred, but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, can-do attitude with a passion for helping customers.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility with working hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic IT skills for operating the POS system.
